Teresa Renee Gillis 69, of Peoria, AZ passed away surrounded by loved ones on March 19, 2022. Teresa was born on October 10, 1952 to Floyd & Eleanor Campbell in Scottsbluff, NE and immediately brought joy and laughter into the world.
Teresa was a proud veteran of the United States Army. She was 29 years old when she enlisted in to the United States Army where she met her husband Hickman Bruce Gillis and were married for 9 years and had two daughters together Cassandra and Amanda. She was an amazing mother who gave her all in to raising her two daughters. We will never be able to fill the empty space left behind by her.
When Teresa had Cassandra, she decided to dedicate her life to being a fantastic and wonderful mother. Teresa was passionate with her creativity in making numerous different crafts by hand and when she wasn’t filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found in her room watching her favorite TV shows, playing her lottery scratchers, enjoying her cats, etc. Teresa was one of the strongest most courageous woman to ever walk this earth and our family was blessed to have her as the head of the family.
Teresa had an amazing sense of humor and a beautiful laugh. Her mind was razor sharp and she was known to say the most shocking things she could think of. She was kind, generous, compassionate, silly, smart, and stunning. Even when she had spoken in anger, she was often the first to apologize and try to heal what was broken. She loved her entire family.
Teresa will be desperately missed by all those that she has left behind. Our hearts are so broken by this unexpected loss. She was one of a kind and to be loved by her was to be truly blessed. We will miss her greatly.
Teresa is survived by her daughters Cassandra (Devin) O’Hanlon and Amanda (Lee) Taylor. Her parents Floyd and Eleanor Campbell.
