Terry C. Christensen, age 84, passed away at home on July 29, 2019 after a courageous 7-month battle of a rare autoimmune disease. Born May 16, 1935 to Raymond and Blanche (Barta) Christensen in Mahnomen, MN. Terry graduated from Mahnomen High School and later attended the University of Minnesota where he earned his BA. Terry proudly served his country 1953 – 1956 in the Navy aboard the USS John S. McCain DL-3 and continued to stay in contact with shipmates. His life work has been in sales where he worked for OMC, Kraft Foods, and Johnson Evinrude as district manager. In 1976, Terry decided he no longer wished to travel for work and pursued his Real Estate license and later his Brokers license. In 1980, he married his wife Jo and they carried on as Real Estate company owners/brokers in Brainerd, MN until they moved to Peoria, Arizona in 2012 to care for Jo’s mother and Terry happily retired. Terry loved being outdoors whether it be just relaxing in the woodland surrounding of their home watching the wildlife or game hunting on the 80 acres of land with friends and family. Hosting the annual deer hunting camp was a happy time for him. His love for the outdoors lead him to enjoy snowmobiling, 4 wheeling, golf, traveling, card playing, football, watching UFC and spending time with family and friends. We will remember Terry’s sense of humor and fun loving spirit and that will be missed. Even in his declining condition, we were blessed with a few precious laughs and special moments.
Terry is survived by his loving wife Jo; 4 children Charyl (Tim) Roberts of Prior Lake, MN, Curt (Jennifer) Christensen of Merrifield, MN, Eric Christensen of Sacramento, CA, and Tim (Heidi) Winn of Andover. MN; a host of grand and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, sister and brother-in-laws, relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Blanche and his brother Raymond. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 11:00 am at Church of the Nazarene, 14636 N Del Webb Blvd, Sun City, AZ 85351.
