Grandpa, you made my childhood summers so memorable and wonderful, they were the best summers ever staying with you and Grandma in NM. I love you so much and miss you so much and will never ever forget the day you left us because it's the same day I found out I was pregnant with Jessie.  You left us and she came, wish you could have held her, she would have loved you right away!

When I was growing up in Cortez Tom was like a Dad to me. It has been many years since I have seen Tom and Eunice but they have always been in my thoughts and prayers. I know he is watching over each and everyone of you and will be missed by all.

Happy Father's Day dad.  We love you so much and miss you so much.  You are definitely with us today as you are all days.  Mom misses and longs for you so much but you would be so proud of her and what a strong woman she is.  Thank you for being my dad and for always being a dad to Fred.  We love you!!!

Happy 90th Birthday Dad! It's very hard for me to put feelings in writing - especially when it comes to someone whom I love so very much. I miss and love you Dad - thank you for you, your unconditional love, and for all life's lessons! I am grateful that you are with God and not suffering any more. Mom is good, misses you lots - she is an amazing woman but of course you know that being married to her for almost 68 years. Hello Grandpa.  It is extremely difficult to put into words the amount of love, pride, gratitude, and grief that I am feeling right now.  I am so very blessed to have had you as my grandfather.  You were for sure the "story book" grandfather that every kid wishes they had.

You were always the cornerstone of our family.  Your strength, love, determination, tradition, commitment, perseverance & sense of humor were second to none.  You always made me feel special and loved and I hope you always knew how much I loved, cared, and respected you.  

I remember you coming into my office just to get a few pens with my business name on it.  You would walk in, say hello, chat for a minute, put the pens in your front shirt pocket, smile and wish everyone well and go about your day.  Every time you did that I would have to tell stories about my grandparents for at least twenty minutes afterward.  I was so proud that using those pens was so important to you.

I remember all the great Farmington trips growing up. Connie Mac.  Bar D.  You asking waitresses for their phone number for your eligible grandsons.  I remember the way you called all of us honey no matter whether we were boys or girls.  Everyone you loved was honey.  I remember the love in your voice and in your laughter.  Your stories.  Us passing cards under the table with our feet playing hands and feet.  I remember the pressure I felt taking the 30-30 you gave me hunting for the first time because my grandfather never missed a deer with this gun and I can't either!  So many special memories.  Such a special grandfather.

Thank you grandpa for the examples, lessons, and love.  Thank you for showing it through your actions and life.  You never had to say much because you showed it in how you lived.  I hope to become the man that you and my father are.

P.S.  You would be very proud.  Your skinny little bow-legged girl is being so strong.  We are all proud of her.

Dad you are such a loving and wonderful man and we have been so blessed to all be together for close to 90 years  Dad we miss you so much.   

The most important thing to our Dad was his family. He worked so hard to provide a good life for us all growing up.  We as a family went to church every Sunday - Mom and Dad both made sure of that.  We worked for him when he owned Northside Packing Company in Cortez, Colorado and then when he owned Navajo Curio in Farmington, NM.  Dad instilled in us the values of honesty, integrity, hard work and helping out your fellow man. He would always say If you're going to do something, do it right, or don't do it at all.  We always ate our meals together.  Grace was said at each meal up to the day Dad passed  him and Mom would hold hands quietly and say their prayers  - Dad would then squeeze Mom's hand 3 times which signaled to her his love and that it was time to eat. 

We would go to him for advice and he would give us his wisdom.  Sometimes we took it and sometimes we didn't, but if we didn't it wouldn't take long to realize that dad was right.  When it wasn't a matter of giving advice but just being there for us thru a difficult time he was there.  You always knew everything would be ok when mom and him would put their arms around you and just hold you and let you cry.  We are going to miss those arms!

Dad was such a proud and loving Grandfather to all of our children. He was there for them through thick and thin no matter the circumstance. He would never miss an opportunity to play and have fun with the kids.  Our children and Grandchildren have been so blessed to have you in their lives  thank you Dad for all you have done and instilled in them as well.   He welcomed his son-in-laws, Fred, Ron and Jim, with open arms into our family and soon grew to love and respect each one of them as if they were his sons.  That in itself speaks to what kind of men they are as just not everyone could measure up to what he wanted for his daughters.

Dad, you are our father, our mentor, our counselor, our hero.  You were not an ordinary man dad, you were extraordinary.  Thank you for being such an incredible husband to mom and for being everything to your daughters and their families.  You can rest now in the assurance that we will take care of mom. We love you more than life itself and we will always remain your devoted daughters.

Dad, your 90th birthday celebration was to be tomorrow. We all miss you terribly and love you so much.  The only peace we have is that you are no longer in pain.  Please keep watching over all of us.  We love you!

We had an interesting & adventurous life together Honey.  I'd say,  God's with us, and you would say, the "Man Upstairs" knows what he is doing. 

We've had our ups and downs, but by golly we made it my dear.

Dad, What can I say except I miss you so much. You and Mother have been such an important part of my life, my childrens' lives, and grandchildrens' lives. No matter what I did as a child or an adult, you and Mom were always there to lend support, listen, give advise and/or guidance. If I ever needed you, there you were, no matter where I was, Washington DC, Maryland or here in Farmington. You have given me a lifetime of memories from growing up in Cortez to hanging out with you and Mom as an adult. Dad, you have an amazing outlook on life. You always found the "lesson to be learned" when things were difficult. You were always a "positive" presence in everyones' lives. The twinkle in your eyes when you were giving someone a hard time, the little quirk to your smile when you were being mischievious, your laugh, your smile, your jokes, your humor, your humanitarian attitude, your embrace, hugs, kisses and waves goodby will be such cherished memories. Our memories of you will be passed down to more grandchildren and great grandchildren as your legacy lives on. Grandpa,  I have so many great memories of you from the years flying from New York to Farmington when I was younger. The times you and grandma took Stephanie and I on the many various trips around the country so we could watch you and grandma square dance. Times going to Banff, Canada to Vegas to camping out in the woods to taking naps in the office at Navajo Curio Shop. You have always been a strong man and a great grandfather. You have held 'our' family together for so many years. I will miss the times you took me to Connie Mack, the Bar 'D', you taught me how to bait my first fish line and the countless times we played hands and feet, especially when the men won!  I will miss all the stories you told and the great times we shared through the years. I am glad you are not in anymore pain. You will be missed more than words can express.
