

Walt was born August 18, 1942 in Denver, Colorado to Walter P. and Jean Patterson. He grew up in Richmond, Missouri, and after graduating from Richmond High School, Walt served in the Army as Specialist, and was a training instructor in Electronics at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. He went on to attend Walsh College in Canton, Ohio, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting, and was selected for membership in Who's who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.
Walt was the Route Accounting Manager for Guy's Foods in Liberty, Missouri, then moved on to positions of Controller for Tarmac, then for Myron Green Food Services in Kansas City, Missouri.
After moving to Sun City, Arizona in 2002, Walt studied for his real estate license and was a Realtor for 18 years before retiring. He was an agent with Ken Meade Realty for many years before it was sold to Coldwell Banker. Walt was a member of the Western Maricopa Association of Realtors (WeMar), the National Realtors' Association, Toastmaster's, and was a past President of the Sun City Homeowners Association. He also served on Sun City's 50th Anniversary Committee.
Walt had a love of photography taking pictures of wildlife, flowers, desert life, and people. He and his wife enjoyed traveling, especially taking cruises, visiting the Caribbean, Panama Canal, and California Coast. They also enjoyed dancing to rock and roll music and occasionally ballroom.
Walt is survived by his loving wife, Karen, of 42 years; his children Phillip, Leigh-Ann, and Paula, and their families; his brother, Paul (Verlee), and his sister, Mable Catherine Patterson, both of Richmond, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Phillip.
