In life we loved you dearly,

When I lost you

Alfreda Baker was a true friend with hugs that made you feel like everything would be alright.  Her smile and presence would light up the room.  Zone 10 had the best zone leaders.  She would always tell me for our zone fellowship, I don't need to tell you what to bring Sis Sandi.  I would say what, but already knowing, I had to bring potato salad.  I would make her some on the side. She would give me a big hug and say thank you, you are the best.  Whenever she cooked macaroni and cheese, she would make a small pan for Joshua.  She said that's her baby and she had to give him what he liked to eat.  He would say " that's for me".  She said yes," just for you". Joshua would give her a big hug and say thank you.   She would remember our birthdays and anniversarys with a card with a small gift. She had a heart of gold and a true woman of God.  She was competitive when we bowled on Sundays.  She would bring it every time when we bowled her team.  We had so much fun bowling. She will be missed but never forgot.  We love you Sister Alfreda Baker.   To Elder Baker and family, we love and if you need anything let us know.  Also you can still get potato salad 😂

Alfreda Baker, a woman of integrity, she could dress from head to toe for any occasion. When I first met her, our spirits connected, such a humble spirit yet straight to the point, a straight shooter and servant for THE LORD.  Her beauty gleamed  a caption of her inner and outer vessel. She may have appeared quiet but she had  a loud desire to please God. I will miss her on the front row, dressed from head to toe praising God🙏🏽

I have so many fond memories of Sis. Baker. She, indeed, was a true Woman of Integrity. My first encounter with her was working in the Women’s department with Agape Fellowship District. Sis. Baker was a no nonsense person when it came to everyone carrying their share of the load. I loved her hospitable spirit and willingness to serve wherever needed. 

I enjoyed our meals together and how she (like me) loved eating crab legs. In fact, during our last conversation together in October, Sis. Baker asked me when was I cooking gumbo and how much was needed for the crab? My husband teased her and told her that there was not enough crab in the world for her to be satisfied. I told her that once COVID lifted and she better that I would make it happen. 

I’m sorry that we didn’t have an opportunity to enjoy another pot of gumbo together. I will certainly miss your candor and unyielding love for our family. You reminded me on an occasion, after Lee Jr. married Jessica, that we were family now!

We will remember Sister Baker as a beautiful, energetic, and elegant woman of God.  Though we only knew her for a short while, she left a profound impact on us.  We often admired her undeniable skills of persuasion, gift of hospitality, and unique talent for college football trash talk.  

We’re going to miss planning/fundraising for the marriage ministry together and getting to know her better. However, we have joy in knowing she is at peace with our Lord and Savior.

In Sympathy, 
I have tears that cry because my dear Sister-in-Christ is no longer with us. I also have tears that rejoice because Alfreda’s deepest longing to be with God has been fulfilled!!!
My fondest memories are working in the Women’s Treasure Department and other Church Ministries with her. - - Oh, The Church Dinner Fundraisers; My Sista’s Closet Garage Sales; Women’s Retreats; Combined Zone Socials and Breast Cancer Walks. -Just to name a few (LOL)!
She would always say, “Alright Sis B. and Sis Taylor, you know I need your help and I need my A-Team that will work and get what needs to be done- DONE”. We would laugh and help her. And there was the inside joke between Sis Baker and me: I see her twinkling and mischievous eyes as she pretended to leave candy wrappers on First Lady Logan’s side table and Lord knows I can’t look at a store-bought cake now and not wonder how many slices I can get from it! 
You all know that she was a Typhoon Businesswoman- she loved buying, loved sales and getting bargain deals! She would always call my husband and ask what was on sale at the grocery stores and commissary side-walk sales. 
What many of you may not have known was how gracious, thoughtful and really giving she was. Every year, she would sponsor a table and buy tickets for our senior ladies for the Holy Women’s Prayer Brunch. She would sponsor kids for Sumner Camp and buy pizza , chicken wings and ice cream on the last day for them. Alfreda would also bring back Garrett popcorn from Las Vegas for those who loved it as much as she did. She would bring in food for our Pastoral Zone Leaders Meetings. Thinking of me on my birthday when she was going through her medical challenges. — And the list goes on and on when you think of her generosity! Such a sweet person!

You left me beautiful memories as you did with so many others. Sometimes our lives are touched by gentle friends who stay for awhile....but you, my dear friend will stay in my smile and heart forever 💞🙏🏽!

My memory that sticks out in my mind is when my husband and I first became members of the Antioch church family and Elder and Sister Baker invited us out for lunch One Sunday afternoon what I remember so vividly was how sweet and charming and kind  Alfreda was to us. When I would see Elder Baker at church he would say hi Sister Anita whose name rhymes with my wife Alfreda. Alfreda always had a hug and a smile and a kind word to say to me always. I would just like to offer my sincere condolences to you and your family and know that my husband Roger and I are keeping you and your family in our prayers during this time of loss. May God be with you and keep you and may God hold your fragile hearts in his hands and guide you through this time of sorrow.:We love you and God bless you now and always.

One of the things Alfreda and I shared was a love for football. She with her Jacksonville Jaguars and me with my Dallas Cowboys. Even though we cheered for different teams she thought enough of me to purchase me a Dallas Cowboys coffee mug while she was on a trip to Texas. She knew my love of C&C, (Coffee and Cowboys.) I still use this mug faithfully.. The way she carried herself was regal but she was  humble at the same time. In her presence she made you feel a part of her circle, but what was great about Alfreda's circle was that it included everyone. She was real and genuine. I will miss our Zone 10 Socials which were not just gatherings but were game shows from The Newlywed game to Family Feud to Triva. And not to forget Black Out Bingo which 
was off the Chain! She always wanted me to make Chili Beans to where I wouldn't even ask her at the next social "what should I bring" because I already knew, and who could say no to Alfreda. She truly touched the hearts of all whom she came into contact with.  What an honor to have known such an amazing woman who I can call my friend.

I will always remember how Sis. Alfreda carried herself. She always had a pleasant demeanor. She was committed to her family both near and far. I will miss the after watch night meals at IHOP.  It is comforting to know that we will meet again.  My condolences to Elder Baker and the entire family!

We shared some good ole times in Jacksonville Florida back in the 80's.   Heck, I remember when I was married to your cousin and you said, " Hey Rob, introduce me to your Brother."  I don't know what he said to you,  but ya'll were inseparable from that point on.   You were my cousin-in-law first, then became my sister-in-law which I thought was funny to be related to you twice.  I remember all the great get togethers at New Year's  with your family when we ate up hecka fried fish and finished off almost two bushels of Oysters.... Ya'll Simmons knew how to put on a spread!   Oh, can't forget about that FLORIDA POT either blue crabs, RogerWood Sausage, Corn-on-the-Cobb, boiled eggs,  and that  SWAMP THANG  FLORIDA seasoning.  Freda, You have really been a true blessing in our lives and a perfect wife for my baby brother!  We will miss you so much.  Love you dearly Sister-n-Law!!

Hello , my name is bro Stephen! I had the great pleasure of knowing sis Baker as good friend , beloved sis in Christ Jesus. She always seem to make me laugh 😆 when ever we got together and briefly talked little! She would share stories with me about when husband/Elder Baker n her first got married! Sis Baker was always kind to me , straight forward if she needed to speak to me on something. And always with Big Smile! And always our talks would end with Hug. Sometimes! Lol..! Sis Baker will be missed by so many saints of this ministry and by others whom knew her outside of this ministry.
Over the 5 years plus as member of tis ministry called Antioch sis Baker was always a joy to be around. She liked poking fun at me sometimes 😂 saying " Let me have your wife's # on WhatsApp so I can let her know all about you"? We just laughed it off!!.Lol...Sis Baker always kept me leaving laughing!

What a blessing it was to know sis Baker ! She always had a Big Smile to go along with her Big hug! She was just a pleasant warm soul. I had so many memories with sis Baker but I think the one I choose is when I was trying to Raise 💰 to go on my first ever Mission trip to East Africa, Uganda! And I didn't know what $Cashapp was. And after church service one Sunday afternoon before leaving we met and she showed me how to upload the $Cashapp on my phone. Then proceeded to explain to me how it worked. I was like Kool. Then she said we are going to play a (TRICK) on my husband /Elder Baker ...lol...she said ask him for $10 if he says No I send $100 ok so I asked Elder Baker Declined it we both starting laughing 😂 I sent it again (per sis bakers request) he Declined second time..we kept laughing then finally she said bro Steve bc you we such good sport 👌 in playing joke on my husband/Elder Baker I'm going to $Cashapp you $100! Ty sis Baker for the 💰 n memory!  I will miss you sis Baker thanks for being a good friend to me over past five plus years I have been member of Antioch!  Lovya in Christ Jesus / bro Stephen!

Mrs Freda Baker  I'm going to miss that Beautiful smile and Christmas in November won't be the same without you.  That was our big family get-together every year. We use to joke about seeing each other next year because of the distance between my home in  Chandler Az and your home in Goodyear Az. I know the Lord is with you and will continue to watch over your family with love.
