I did not know until today that Carl's middle name was LeRoy
What else did I miss about his persona.  I know he was a great guy and "shined" among his Cousins:

We would like to send out heartfelt condolences to Karen, Scot, Bret and all of Carl's beloved family - although we are unable to be there with you in body, we are with you in spirit. We were so very fortunate to have spent time with Uncle Carl and we have so many fond memories of visiting him in Kansas and Arizona. We particularly loved being able to hear him sing as often as we did - something that brought Granny Mae so much joy in her life. She was so very proud of all that Carl achieved and his visits, phone calls and letters were some of her favorite moments. We will miss him very much, but we take comfort in knowing what a joyful reunion they must be having. Love to you all and to Uncle Carl - Pattie, Lindsay and Danny McCarty

We vividly recall visiting Carl in his Marysville home and being overwhelmed with the beautiful artistry of the backyard with running water, stones, plants, waterfalls, recreation of a bit of nature with love, patience and artistry.  It was beautiful and gave a clue to the beautiful person that Carl was, is, and always will be.
