Joni, Anthony, Nicholas,  We were stationed together at RAF Lakenheath.  This difficult news about a great man has just reached me.  Carlos was a very "steady", principled person, a stabilizing force in the Fabrication Flight, and above all a true Gentleman.  Please accept our condolences and know that the fine man who was your husband and father will always be with you in our thoughts and prayers.  Bless you all as you press on and live the fulfilling lives Carlos wanted for you.  Godspeed.

Joni and family, we were stationed at RAF Lakenheath together and I just learned of Carlos's passing.  Saying that, please accept my deepest sympathies to you and the family.  Carlos was the exception at work, off duty and took care of our Airmen, that in turn took care of the busy mission at Lakenheath. I'm so sorry for your great loss. Carlos or " Marty" as I knew him was a great man. I am truly grateful to have him as a mentor during my Air Force career. Hi, Carlos and I were stationed in England at around the same time. He was at Lakenheath and I was at Mildenhall. I worked in NDI like Carlos. We both retired at around the same time and he got a job at the Luke NDI Lab and I worked there briefly as a contractor doing engine inspections. Carlos was a great guy and will be missed. He was a real friend. When I was in Surprise I had a terrible back strain that put me in the hospital. When it came time for release, Carlos came and picked me up and brought me home. I had no one in the area I really knew, but Carlos came through for me. He was a fabulous person and I was richer having known him. Most loving God, you know the pain and sorrow of death; mercifully hear our prayer for those who mourn the death of their beloved. The nights are lonely and the days are too long. Comfort them and bring an end to the days of tears. Bless them and bring an end to their days of sorrow. Renew them with the joy of life and bring to an end their days of mourning. Let the bond of love which you have for your people be the foundation of their hope that love never ends and that precious moments with our beloved are forever held dear in our hearts. Amen.

Words alone can not express the way I feel having lost my cousin Chuckie, your husband and you boys father. My memories of him are few, but clear and cherished. I have 2 in particular that popped into my head when Cindy called and informed me of his passing. They brought a smile to my face as Chuckie was always able to do with his great sense of humor. These were however of when he was quite young. One had to do with cracking Alfred Villanueva on the head with a toy saw and the other about a black yarn pig-tailed wig. The 2nd is on VHS.Funny what you think of at times, and who knows why, but we do.

I also recall spending time with him in Vegas during a few  Super Bowls and of course at the gatherings of others gone before and the Rodriguez Family Reunion. I've never " lost " to the extent you all have, and nothing I say can ease the pain I imagine you are going through, so I won't try. Just know that he meant a lot to me despite the distance and little communication between us all these years. 
I pray you will come to accept his absence and know that he has gone to a place free of pain and suffering where family members passed were waiting for him, arms open wide and leading the group, my Uncle Fred, his dad. I know he loved you all very much.

God bless you all and watch over you until the day you go to meet him yourselves.
