First, JoAnne, I'm so sorry that I found out about Davis's passing so many years later. In high school we were David, David, David and John. We shared so many times together outdoors and Dave Carlson was aways the anchor. I think about those times often, especially one where Dave Carlson and I became "Blood Brothers". 
The best and strongest of character of us all. I look forward to again being with you, Dave. You are the best of friends! JoAnne, you are in my heart.

My family and I attended church with the Carlson family when we lived in Phoenix. Dave always had a warm smile and handshake for anyone he met. We share the knowledge of eternal families and the reunion to come for their family.

My husband, James Inman, has shared so many fond stories from growing up with John and going on camping trips with Brother Carlson. I know Brother Carlson influenced his life for the better. We both send our love.

I met David as a student at Sunnyslope High School. He was always so supportive of me I my student govenment activities.
Later in life we associated as friends and members of the Church.  I always enjoyed being with David and JoAnn. We extend our love to you JoAnn and your family at this difficult time. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

I grew up spending a lot of time at the Carlson house.  We lived in the same cul-de-sac and it was like having an extended family.  There were a lot of kids between the neighbors and we all were in and out of the houses playing and making memories.  Dave and JoAnne were always so nice and welcoming.  They never seemed to mind the extra kids running around.  It was fun having someone my age to play with.  I have a picture of my first day of kindergarten with David Jr and we had matching school bags.  I remember spending many hours playing legos at their house and being so excited when John was born on my 9th birthday.  He was the first child I babysat outside of my family.  My thoughts and prayers are with your family and I'm so very sorry for your loss.

My name is Tyler. I am son of David Carlson Jr and grandchild to David Carlson. I loved working at his store when I was a young boy and enjoyed helping out there as much as I could. We would always go next door to the reptile store and look at all the reptiles there and even feed some of the snakes. My grandfather was one of the most caring and hard working men I know and I will miss him dearly, but I know he is in a better place now watching over us. <3 u always gramps!!

We met Dave and JoAnne when they opened Dave's Discount on Broadway & Dobson in Mesa. Dave always had a smile and a joke and JoAnne was always kind and generous to all.  We talked about our children, dogs, Dave's hunting, house repairs, Kim's nursing school, the other "regulars" and retirement.  My daughter & son-in-law even brought their dogs to visit, outside the store of course.  We considered them both friends and we missed them both when the store had to close.  We think of you often and will always keep you both in our hearts and hope that God will help the pain pass.  My thoughts and prayers go out to the family.
