Delores Emma Riase, 83, passed away on May 6, 2026. Born on April 12, 1943, in Cleveland, Ohio, Delores was the daughter of Elwood Weston and Edwina Weston Vaughn (nee Jones). She spent her formative years in Cleveland, attending Cleveland Public Schools and graduating from Glenville High School. From the beginning, Delores carried herself with a steady resolve—meeting life head-on with conviction, strength, and an unshakable sense of purpose.
Family was at the center of Delores’ life, and her love was both tender and fiercely protective. She was the eldest of eight siblings: Elwood Weston Jr. (Patricia), Eugene Vaughn Jr (deceased), Larry Vaughn (deceased), Cynthia Weston Durrah, Robert Weston (deceased), Broderick Weston (deceased), and Rondell Weston (deceased).
Delores married James Tucker in 1962, and together they welcomed two children, Jeffrey L. Tucker and Leigh A. Tucker. Together they lovingly raised their family until James’ passing in 1972.
Delores built a life marked by a strong work ethic, tenacity, and determination. She began her career working for the United States Post Office from 1966 to 1968. After leaving the Post Office, she served as a Medical Assistant for two different practices until 1980. In 1981, she began a new chapter as an Officer Manager for a pair of bail bond companies, a role that suited her directness, vigilance, and firm sense of order.
In 1987, Delores was blessed with love again when she met and married Clinton Riase. In 2002, Delores and Clinton moved to Arizona where they spent their retirement enjoying hobbies and spending time with family until Clinton’s death in 2024.
Delores is survived by her children, Jeffrey L. Tucker (Carlita) and Leigh A. Tucker; by six grandchildren—Justin Folley (Sonia), LeAndrea Tucker, Jeffrey Tucker Jr, Evan Tucker (Latonya), Martel Mann, and Carlton Tucker; by 13 great-grandchildren; by aunt Marcella Francis; and by a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her legacy lives on through them, carried forward in the lessons she modeled: perseverance, loyalty, and the kind of love that stands guard over the people it cherishes.
Delores was an avid reader and was known to have a book with her at all times. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Stars – Prince Hall Affiliated, Queen Elizabeth Chapter No. 9 and El Hasa Court #47. In retirement, Delores continued to embrace life with courage and curiosity. She volunteered at Banner Del Webb Hospital for four years, was a member of the Red Hat Society, part of the lady putters, and she loved playing bocce. After much trepidation, she took a swimming class—transforming fear into a hard-won confidence and proving, once again, that she was never one to be defeated by the unknown.
Delores loved traveling. Although she and Clinton took many cruises and traveled extensively throughout the United States, her favorite trip was to Fiji and Australia. She enjoyed cooking (and eating) and delighted in discovering new food adventures, always ready to try something different and savor what life had to offer.
Though Delores will be remembered for her toughness, relentless drive, and independence, those who knew her best will remember even more the steady care beneath that strength: a supportive presence, a loving heart, and a grandmother whose devotion was wise, nurturing, and unwavering.
The family extends special thanks to cousins Ira Ivery and Nichele Jackson, who were always present in both Cleveland and Arizona and whose unwavering support over the last few months is truly appreciated. The family is profoundly grateful.
