Denise Elizabeth Nickerson

Denise Elizabeth Nickerson (Will) passed away unexpectedly on May 2nd, 2025. Left to cherish her memory are her children Zachary and Hannah, mother Connie Will, siblings Darin Will and Wendy (John) Hartley, David Nickerson and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

In her high school years, she loved playing volleyball and track-not so much. After graduating from high school in 1991 she went on to Wartburg University on a presidential scholarship,and then graduated from GCU (Grand Canyon University) on the Dean's list with honors.

Denise loved hugs, butterflies, hummingbirds, puzzles, the ocean, traveling, hats,laughing, journaling, playing games, including Mahjong. But mostly she loved her children, Zach, Hannah and God.

Her first job here in Arizona was working as a director of activities in an Alzheimer's home. Here she enjoyed working and having fun with the adults .After that, Denise went on to have many successful jobs working as an office manager. She then wanted to be home with her children, to love on them. One of her biggest joys was watching her children play sports. And then watching them grow up into beautiful successful adults was the best!

A few of her most important values were spirituality, patience, family, humor, friendships, and compassion. Her love for people was so apparent as she was still very close to her high school friends who spoke so kindly of her. Denise also had many supporters friends here in AZ.

She must not have done enough coloring in school as one of her favorite adult activities is coloring in the adult coloring book Results were beautiful. Journaling was an important part of Denise’s day many times she would start by saying "Good morning,God! It's me, Denise!"she continued by saying " I love starting that way it is the sense of humor you gave me!"

A service will be held at Community of Grace Lutheran Church - 10561 W Pinnacle Peak Rd, Peoria, AZ 85383
