Gene was born in Minnesota in 1944 and shortly thereafter moved to N. Dakota. In 1950 the family moved to Stockton Ca where he attended schools and upon graduation from HS in 1962 he went to Fresno State College where he obtained his Bachelor’s degree. He met his loving wife, Rebecca (Becky, “Rebby”), and married in 1966. Shortly after they married he went into the OTC for the Air Force in Biloxi Miss. His 1st assignment was Honolulu Hawaii where his 3 daughters were born. He obtained his Master’s degree from the University of Hawaii, and then in 1972 the family left Hawaii and after a short stay in Grandview, MO they eventually moved to Kennewick, WA where he left the military and went to work for Westinghouse Hanford. After more than a decade in Kennewick, he took a job transfer and moved the family to the Bay area where they lived until about 2002. Upon his retirement, Gene and Becky moved back to Kennewick WA to be near their oldest daughter, her family, and old friends and made many new ones!
Gene had a larger than life personality, with an absolutely amazing heart! He was a loving spouse, dad, and grandparent. He enjoyed mentoring his kids and grandkids and tried never to miss any of their sporting events, concerts, plays or other activities. He and Becky enjoyed traveling together as well as with good friends. Gene had an infectious laugh and was never short of jokes! He was an avid golfer and loved playing games and getting together with friends and family. He will be deeply missed!
