I just heard about my friend ‘s George’s  passing I am so sorry,I know he will be missed . I worked with him in the Bay Shore Family Health Center he was a great person,he called me hisFairy god mother.


It is not how long a man lives, but how  profound that life is. Mr. Sheffey touched so many lives here in Bayshore. He was an amazing friend, loving son, and exceptional human being. I feel so privileged to have known him and to have taken care of his beautiful Mom at the end of her life,—I always called him his “Mom’s clone “

You were my trusted companion everyday as we ventured to those long days of school at SB and into our clinical rotations, then the unknown world of the first PA's. We got to know each other. You were like a brother. You shared your Alaska adventures. I remember when you drove back in your Jeep. I was so honored to meet some of your amazing family. Your parents and your Aunt.I was so honored to be a brides maid in your wedding. 
You were so special. Such a dependable human being.  You were fun, you made me laugh, you loved music, always so caring, respectful of everyone. I wish we had remained in touch after I last saw you at SB for the board review. I will forever cherish you. I will remember those emails you sent with such love when I was on chemo several years later. I will miss you forever.

To one who kept us pioneers together in a common struggle to take our rightful place in a new  world of  healthcare, I salute you.  It seems like a few moments ago when we  shared laughter,  tears, and smiles - yours being  very big and all-embracing. The day we walked along the beach to celebrate our graduation is as memorable as the day you came to visit me at our alma mater many years later. I am proud to represent graduates like you - forever kind and knowledgeable and giving - as the ones who stepped bravely into a world not unlike our current one with a spirit that never dies. 

George was one of the caring and compassionate health care providers I have ever known
His kindness and his laughter will not be forgotten by me now or ever
I met him the first day of our PA program and he was an awesome student always there to help and keep peace among us all
Patients and peers are better for his care
He is missed

It's hard to hear when a family member passes away.  
Little did I know that when you greeted me for my birthday, it would be the last time we would communicate on this earth.  I will always cherish the memories of the Christmas  I spent with you, Donna, Erica, Steven, your extended family and friends in your Phoenix home.  And who can forget your adventures working on the Alaska pipeliine?  : )
