I can’t believe it’s been two years and that it’s taken me two years to write this. My nana passed two weeks and of course I though of you. You would sit in the living room and talk to her for hours when you would come over. I remember one time I didn’t even know you’d shown up and I was waiting for you to come over and I saw that you were already there for quite some time talking to my nana. I’m sorry it took me so long to write something about you. Until two weeks ago, I never knew what to say. I was scared  to write something here about you because i was worried it would make your family sad, but it is actually really comforting for family to know that others love you too and to hear about the memories with you that they weren’t apart of . I’ll never forget when you taught me how to use a shotgun at your favorite hiking spot, and an old man came down the mountain yelling at us for shooting into the mountain. I see you every day, sometimes its in a song that makes me smile or a sunset that makes me cry. You loved nature and saw so much beauty in life. You taught me a lot about life. You were an old and beautiful soul. Grief is always changing and never goes away. It’s being grateful to have known and loved you but also sad to never hear your voice again. You and your family are in my prayers every night. Missing you never gets easier and neither does this day. You will always be my best friend forever.

My beautiful baby brother, you were always my better half. Always holding me back and holding it down for me. Where to start? My earliest good memory is when you whipped two kids ass at the park for picking on me when they were older than me and you were younger than me, they never messed with us again, or anyone at school either. You protected me in so many ways. The rhythm of your voice can calm me down or bring a storm and it was all so beautiful in so many ways. I believe you lived a fulfilling life brother I’m so happy and proud of you no matter what and I get to wake up everyday remembering your words of love, and at times i forget but when I here my intuition now I hear you. It’s painful but at the same time it brings me peace knowing that your in a place of resting and not having to go through the vicious cycle the disease we have creates. I love you so much zaya. I’ll never forget that no matter where I was in life you always loved me more and more every time I saw you. Today is hard, tomorrow will be harder but I know I’ll see you again my little sea turtle velociraptor. I’ll never stop fighting for what we believe in either, it’s hard to remember memories all I know is that you made me a better person all the time. I promise you I’ll be that better person now brother I love you so much.

From the moment Zaya and I met, we became so attached to each other and we were always together almost every single day. Spending his last few months with him was such a blessing. He was so excited to be doing so good and to even just have his own room. His energy lit up every room he entered. I fell in love with you, Isaiah DeRose Rangel, the first time you kissed me while we were at work and I lost you the morning I left your house to go went back to work, after being with you for 3 amazing days… until we meet again my love (w/that chapstick) ❤️ I will always love you baby. Today would have been our official 2 months being together 💔 only being we didn’t even pick a date until like 3 weeks of us being together and then you just picked the day it was that day lol. 

Thank you so much for always being a great brother and a best friend. You taught me so much about life and frequently pushed me to be courageous. It bothered me a little as a kid, but now that I’m older I see that you just always knew what I could handle on my own. You even pulled my tooth out once because I was too afraid to do it! While it hurts to know that I won’t be able to call or send you a message when I need advice or a little push to do something, I am comforted to know you will always be around in spirit to help guide me on my path. Te amo, I’ll see you again some day big brother. 

I wish I could have done or said something to help you Isaiah. I’ll miss you as long as I live. You were such a bright person and brought so much laughter and joy to everyone. I love you forever. 

Isaiah had a contagious smile. He was like a son to our family. Always made us laugh and never a dull moment when he was around. He was a great football player and played alongside my son Mark.  The memories he left us will never fade. Love you Isaiah. ♥️ You will be missed. Keep an eye on your parents and brothers and sister. They miss you tremendously.

Isaiah, I still remember that morning, when your Mama texted me, asking me to call her asap.  In a million years, that was the last thing I thought I would ever hear, is that you passed away.  It broke my heart to hear that.  This just makes me so sad.  I honestly wish this wasn't even happening,  I didn't want you to leave Isaiah, I didn't.  We're all going to miss you here, we're going to miss seeing you at our future get-togethers at Grandma/Grandpa's house.  From the time you were a little boy, you always had a such a good soul and a kind heart.  You did! 
 May you be at peace now with the Lord, Isaiah.  Until we see you again!
and G, Victor, Lorenzo, Jasmine and Ezekiel, I am so sorry for your loss of Isaiah!  Words cannot express how wholeheartedly devastating it was to hear this.   You are all in my thoughts and prayers during this time of sorrow and grief.  And know, that none of you are alone, we are all here for you, okay.   I love you all!

The first time I met Isaiah was our Freshman year of high school. We played freshman football for the Willow Canyon WildCats together. During our time on and off the field I got to know Isaiah enough to consider him as a brother for life.  We definitely had lots of great times and memories over those 4 years. I will always think of him as I always had. Which was a great soul! Great friend! A true brother. 
Rip Isaiah your in a better place!
