Liz and family,
We hope you know that many thoughts are with you  for your loss.
I have fond memories of Jerry (Willie) playing ball with NorBrook, and all the parties.  He always was a happy guy and will be missed.

Have fond memories of Willie 
I remember Willie playing center field and i in right field chasing the same fly ball we collided and both fell down and my nose hit Wille’s knee cap and I ended up with a broken nose 
I learned something about my nose. The doctor told me if my nose was full of nickels, I be a rich man.

Liz. I'm so sorry about Jerrys passing. He was such a nice guy.

     Will was one of my best friends and a truly wonderful person.  He will be missed deeply.  I think the only time Will ever got mad was when he lost at cards.  We had some great times together, especially when we worked in the kitchen at the Brookfield Zoo.   It is very hard to believe he is gone; he was too good of a person to die that young.  He was our Willie Mays of softball.

My sincerest condolences to you Liz and your families.... The Cubs have lost one of their most dedicated fans and we will miss hearing Will's stories growing up with the NorBrook gang and their escapades.  He will be sorely missed. 


Willie (Jerry) ....... I will  miss you my Nor-Brook brother of nearly 70 years.  I will cherish al of the memories of us growing up in Brookfield.  Our group was always together through our days at Saint  Barbara and RBHS.  We were always there for each other.  I remember your wedding day in New Mexico and your wedding day to Liz in Brookfield.  We raised our beautiful children together and the  happy memories doing so.  When the time came to retire, Penny and I followed you and Liz to beautiful Arizona.  We enjoyed our many trips traveling around Arizona with you and Liz.  I still remember when our wives surprised us on our 70th birthday with a party for us with our new Arizona posse.  I will miss you dearly ............ John 

I will miss you Butch! So will the guys you played softball with, where you got the nickname WILLIE. You got me my first car, your 1953 Pontiac convertible with holes in the floor, watching the pavement go by and we kept our feet warm on top of the muffler in the winter! I remember when you bought your first car, a 1964 Chevy convertible, blue with a white top. You would wash and wax it every weekend. You always bought those new cars until they became too costly. I was your best man at your wedding in New Mexico, we were both in the service at the same time. You worked at Sara Lee for a long part of your life. Then, because you disliked the cold weather, you went south. We love you and I know you are always with us. Your brother, Andy!

Mr. Sherlag (as known to me) always treated me just like he did his boys, kindly, with a joke or a baseball story. He was a good man who raised two fine sons. 

I’ll always remember his smile and his laugh. Late night card games and watching baseball games. I am grateful for being able to spend some time with him over the years. 

His legacy lives on with his family and all that he came in contact with. Taken from us too soon.
