Survived by his wife Jean Suzanne Peterson of Surprise, Arizona; two sons: Laurence James Peterson, III (Aree) of Austin, Texas and Michael Tyler Peterson of Dallas, Texas; One stepson: Daniel Russell Maggio (Reagan) of Lafayette, Louisiana; one stepdaughter: Carla Maggio Willis (Stephen) of The Woodlands, Texas; two brothers: Gerald Peterson (Gayle) of The Villages, Florida and Michael Jude Peterson (Cindy) of St. Augustine, Florida; two brothers-in-law: George William Mattson, Jr. (Donna) of Marietta, Georgia and Michael John Mattson of St. Francisville, Louisiana; Granddaughters: Cristina Madruga, Mary Ellen Maggio, Victoria Peterson, and Taylor Peterson; Grandsons: Matthew Thomas Maggio, Camden Peterson, Laurence James Peterson IV, and Henry George Willis; One niece: Alexa Victoria Peterson of St. Augustine, Florida: two nephews: Michael Peterson of California and Christopher Peterson of New Jersey.

Larry was a CPA and a retired healthcare and higher education consultant. He was on the finance Council of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish and was a 4th Degree Knight. Larry served on the Steering Committee of Grand Learning in Sun City Grand.

A Funeral Mass was held at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Sun City West on Saturday, January 6, 2018 and inurnment will be at Mount St. Mary’s Cemetery in Emmitsburg, Maryland.
