Maritess was born on April 21, 1949 in Manila, Philippines to Nicolas and Dolores Bernardino. She graduated from the University of the East in the Philippines. She was one of the first of her family members to move to the United States from the Philippines. She worked at PG&E in California for over 35 years, and retired from PG&E in 2019, when she moved to Surprise, Arizona. She would tell stories how she loved living in Arizona. Maritess loved to travel. She loved to collect Polish Pottery. She believed there was no such thing as having too much Polish Pottery. She was very Patriotic. She always believed it was important to support active military and veterans. Maritess was a loving dog mom that loved to take her dog to the park every morning. She enjoyed having her dog(s) take pictures with Santa every year during Christmas. She leaves behind her beloved dog Bailey II.
Maritess' family would describe her as being very elegant. She also was strong, caring, and an independent woman who loved her son more than anything.
A private cremation is planned. The final resting place will be determined at a later date in California.
