Mark Adrian Goss passed away on September 27, 2019 in Goodyear, Arizona at age 55. He was born on September 8, 1964 in Havre de Grace, Maryland to parents Billy Ray and Sara, but grew up in Rising Sun, Maryland. He is survived by his father Billy Ray Goss, mother Sara Ann Carter, stepfather Harry V Carter, wife Tracy, son Nick, daughter in law Shelby (Nick), son Taylor, daughter in law Ashley (Taylor), his sister, and his granddaughter Riley (Nick).
In 1987, Mark began his 13-year military career being stationed at Luke Air Force Base in Arizona, and had two tours in Korea. He fell in love with the desert scenery and lived in Arizona for the remainder of his life. It was there that he met his wife, Tracy, over the phone, and they fell for each other over long conversations without ever having seen one another. Tracy moved to Arizona from Indiana shortly after, and within a year they were married and had their first son.
Mark was the kind of man you wanted on your side. He commanded respect everywhere he went, and didn't take abuse from anyone. He stood behind those he loved, and he never held back what he was truly feeling. He thrived while working under pressure. He excelled at every task he put his mind to. And everyone who knew him knew he had a heart of gold under his strong exterior.
Mark Goss leaves behind a legacy of hard work, family, and his passion for baseball. He loved his job, where he proudly took on the title of Operations Manager at Bagger Nation. He doted on his two dogs (Chester and Daisy), adored his granddaughter, always let his children know how proud he was of them, and loved and supported his wife through 31 years of marriage. He was a longtime Arizona Diamondbacks fan, cheering them on through thick and thin, and even attended their very first game in 1998. Mark was a man of strength, a man of wisdom, and a man whose presence can be felt even in his absence. He was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by the family and friends he left behind.
