He later served in the Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1992. Mike met Patsey when they both worked in the deli at Gromer’s grocery store in Elgin, Illinois. They quickly fell in love and were married in 1998. For more than two decades, they lived in Mason City, Iowa, where Mike was a truck driver. He later also worked for IC Systems. For the past decade, while living in Wickenburg, Mike worked in the produce department at Safeway. He enjoyed watching the Portland Trailblazers and the Arizona Diamondbacks, as well as any professional golf tournament. Those who knew him were always struck by his wry sense of humor and his kind and gentle spirit. He will be greatly missed! A private committal will take place in Oregon later this year.
