Michael David Hinton was born on March 15, 1968 in Sherman, Texas, and he passed away at home on May 21, 2022, only two months after his 54th birthday. Michael met Laura in Colorado Springs, Colorado on August 15, 1992. After this encounter, neither one of them dated anyone else. The couple got married on December 30, 1993, and honeymooned in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico the following April. Michael really enjoyed the fishing there. He was thrilled to catch a large sailfish and mahi mahi. He was so excited about these fish that he had them mounted and mailed home. Then he could hang them on the wall as proof of his fish tale of two monster fish was true. Ever since childhood, Michael’s favorite activity was fishing. He had been deep sea fishing in the Gulf of Mexico and the Pacific Ocean on multiple occasions. He also did a lot of freshwater fishing in Arizona, California, Colorado, New Mexico, and Texas. Michael loved to tell his fish stories to anyone who would listen, and he always made the stories interesting and eventful. He loved making new friends to take fishing and he taught then his technique for rigging up, baiting, and casting for different fish in different waterways and weather. Michael was an excellent fisherman and he probably could have been a professional. Michael spent his working days as a custom house painter and tile installer. He was meticulous about his work and could create unique designs with tile. He worked as a painter with his father Foy Hinton, and then went on to work for several other painting companies and an independent tile installer. Unfortunately, he had a severe accident at work on August 18, 2000 when a ladder clamp broke while he was working on a second floor soffit and he fell backwards landing on his head, neck and shoulders. This left him permanently disabled and unable to return to work. Michael had a good sense of humor and loved to tell jokes, although he did not have much of a filter and sometimes he came across a little risque. He loved to pull harmless pranks on Laura and his daughter Michaela, but it often frustrated them. Michael was usually the life of the party and easily fit in with everyone. He was a good friend to those who knew him, and he would go out of his way to help a stranger in need. Michael is deeply loved and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife Laura Renee’ Perkett Hinton and his daughter Michaela Noel Hinton, both at the family home in Waddell, Arizona; his father Foy Hinton of Colorado Springs, Colorado; his mother Nancy White of Baltimore, Maryland; brothers Matthew Hinton of Florida, Mark Hinton of Plano, Texas, and Martin Hinton of Las Vegas, Nevada.
