Nancy Louise Meszaros passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of October 3, 2025, at the age of 90 in Phoenix, Arizona. Nancy was born on December 31,1934 to parents Henry Croteau and Claire Croteau (Lattinville) in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. Nancy grew up in Fitchburg Massachusetts and graduated from Fitchburg HS.
By the ones who loved and knew her the most, Nancy is described as dedicated, passionate, opinionated and loyal. For over 60 years, Nancy married the love of her life Charles John Meszaros. Nancy described her immediate attraction to Charles Meszaros with a straight gesture to an accompanying friend over 65 years ago when she first set eyes on each other, she said – “he is the man that I am going to marry”. That proclamation led to a union that lasted in total for over 62 years. Together, Nancy and Charles raised 2 boys Gary and David Meszaros and spent many years primarily in the greater Sacramento California region before retiring and spending their sunset years in the states of Nevada and finally in Arizona.
Nancy had a love & dedication for animals. Nancy was primarily a Cat lover, but she loved all animals no matter their place on earth. Her affection for Cats grew into a flourishing home business raising and breeding purebred Persian cats and was officially registered Cat Fanciers Association (CFA) under the name of Nan-Cha-Pur Cattery (Nan for “Nancy”; Cha – for “Charles”, and Pur for Cats!) complete with Pedigrees. Nancy had much success showing under the CFA Organization for many years and had several Cats reach Grand Champion award level. Up to her most senior years, Cats were always a presence in Nancy & Charles home.
In addition, Nancy was a loyal Boston Red Sox & Boston Bruins Fan having been raised in the state of Massachusetts. She waited patiently until the Baseball season of 2004 when the Red Sox ended their World Series drought of 86 years and won the World Series Championship. The 2004 Red Sox team delivered on her dream like so many countless fans of her generation to see and witness an historic World series win within her lifetime, in fact, Nancy would go on to witness another 3 World Series titles championed by her beloved Red Sox before her passing.
Nancy was preceded in death by her loving husband Charles Meszaros in 2021. Nancy leaves behind a memorable legacy and her sons, David and Gary, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and all that had the privilege to know her.
