Robert Lewis Young

Robert “Bob” Lewis Young from Goodyear AZ passed to Eternal Life on December 31, 2021 at the age of 91. He grew up in Bellefonte, PA and graduated from Bellefonte High School. He then dedicated his life to his country and served in the United States Navy for 22 years. He enlisted in 1948 and retired as a Lieutenant. As a civilian, he went on to have a career in Aerospace Engineering.

He lived a wonderful adventurous life. He was married to Jean (McCloskey) Young for 67 years and they traveled the world.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and a friend to many. He has 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was the patriarch of a loving, caring family.

He is survived by his wife and two daughters Shawn Sheree Arend (David) and Cindy Sue Povio (Anthony), his two brothers Gary (Linda) and Dennis (Rebecca) Young and one sister Brenda Van Ingen (Lane).

Robert is preceded in death by 2 daughters Lygia Lee Dunn (Ray) and Jennifer Ann Young, two sisters Beverly Auman and Shirley Ingram, a brother David Young, his mother Geraldine Houtz Young and his father Blair F. Young

His interests included traveling, dancing, walking, and oil painting.

Celebration of life services will be held on January 29, 2022 at 10 am at the Desert Springs Community Church. Funeral care was provided by Surprise Funeral Home in Surprise AZ at 16063 W Bell Rd 85374
