Ronald Curly Collins passed away at the age of 78 on November 13, 2021 following an 8-month courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born on February 20, 1943 in Monroe, North Carolina to John Cleveland Collins and Ethel Mae Collins. Ronnie moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at the age of 5. He lived in Philadelphia until he joined the Navy and served proudly as a Seabee. Ronnie was an artist, a carpenter and a concert promoter. His interests varied from riding horses, playing chess and poker, traveling and creating unique pieces of art. Ronnie will be remembered fondly for his sense of humor and laughter. He always had a new joke to share. Frequently he would share his words of wisdom by starting with the phrase "My daddy told me...". Ronnie is survived by his wife of 44 years, Barbara, his daughter Ursula Moon of Charlotte, North Carolina, four brothers: Marvin (Anise) Collins of Phoenix, Arizona, Harvey Collins of Monroe, North Carolina, Chuck Collins of Charlotte, North Carolina and Ernest (Wanda) Bell of Henderson, Nevada. He is also survived by three sisters: Marlene (Frank) Richardson of Wadesboro, North Carolina, Helen (Herman) White of Monroe, North Carolina and Laura (Arthur-deceased) Allen of Monroe, North Carolina. He is survived by his grandchildren, Christian Moon Jr. and Tiara Moon (Selchuck) Ustun, his great granddaughter, Sophia Ella Ustun, and his godchildren, Giovanni Augone and Alexis Augone. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and several other family members. Ronald is proceeded in death by his son, Charlie Bishop and his brothers Tommy Mosley and Jeff Mosley. Ronnie's memorial will be for the family only on December 3rd.
