Vikki was born October 27, 1969 in Los Angeles, California to Robert and Donna Chilton. The family moved to Missouri. At the age of 13 Vikki received the dear salvation of Christ her God and lived her life with passion for her God and Saviour Jesus.
Vikki married her husband Dave Davis of 28 years on September 4th, 1993 and they brought two daughters into the world Danielle Grace Davis and Gabrielle Hope Davis. Vikki supported her family during Operation Iraqi Freedom with the 10th Psychological Operations Battalion in 2007 and afterwards in her husband’s role as a United States Army Chaplain and Prison Chaplain.
Vikki had a love for Jesus Christ that would never fade and a wonderful light and love for others. In 2017 she moved to Phoenix, Arizona to support her family and the ministry of her husband. Vikki loved to attend Copper Hills Church on the Lord’s day.
She loved the beautiful weather and glorious red rocks of Sedona. She loved the creation that her God displayed in all its majesty. Her home was the center of her heart and of course her Siamese cat Cookie. She also loved spending time with her friends and encouraging them in their walk with Christ.
In December of 2020, Vikki was diagnosed with deadly glioblastoma brain cancer. Vikki fought the fight for 13 months with this disease with her husband and daughter Gabby by her side.
On January 31st, 2022 her Lord eventually gained the victory for her from this insidious cancer and she is enjoying sweet fellowship with Him now.
Vikki is survived by her Husband Reverend Dave Davis, Daughters Danielle Grace Davis and Gabrielle Hope Davis; Father Robert Chilton, Mother Donna Chilton; siblings Terry Wiernusz and Jeff Chilton; Aunt Linda Prue Chilton; Mother in Law Claire Miller and Father in Law Will Miller; Uncle and Aunt Bill and Linda Matlach; Aunt Vada Brewer; cousins Sally Evans and Tanya Matlach; Aunt Susan Buzard; cousin Holly Dalton; Uncle and Aunt Tom and Fonda Davis; cousin Michael Davis; also many friends from Jewish Voice Ministries International and many prayer warriors that have entreated the Lord on her behalf.
Vikki has fought the fight of the faith valiantly and has finished the course. She will always be remembered.
In honor of her mother Gabby has written this poem:
colors such as cacti
the way you tended to our every need
the way you loved me with mind
you never ceased to protect ur brood
from harm
from danger
you had awareness in love
it was never ending
you were so significant in every way
more than you could gain conscience of
i loved the way you lit up every time you saw a cactus or even just a hint of wildlife
you made every day worth it to live although you were tough and pushed me through dark times
it was worth it in the end, remarkably worth it
if only i could hear your voice at least one more time
one more time to receive peace
yellow roses will always forever resemble your love for those around you
rest easy mom, i hope all your worries and doubts cease to exist in heaven
2 Timothy 4:6 For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure has come. 7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith; 8 in the future there is reserved for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing.
