Always in our Hearts

With sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved husband, devoted father and cherished Grandpa, Andrew (Andy) Easton on January 4, 2026 after a lengthy illness with Alzheimer's disease. Born on January 28, 1941 in Wishaw, Scotland as one of six children, Andy never forgot where he came from and carried the warmth of his family and Scottish roots throughout his life. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Elizabeth, with whom he shared raising his family and exploring the world together, creating lasting memories. He leaves behind his two adoring children, Wendy (Owen) and Craig, along with treasured grandsons, Cameron and Quinn, who brought him immeasurable joy. In addition to his immediate family, Andy is survived by his sister Betty (Ian) and beloved nieces and nephews.

Andy was a top student throughout school culminating at graduation when he received the school’s Dux Medal. This achievement guaranteed him a position at Motherwell Bridge Engineering where he could continue his academics while working. In June 1964, he was offered a job with Canron in Ottawa, Canada. He immigrated 3 weeks later, but not before he asked the love of his life to follow him. She did, and they were married in Ottawa, November 1964.

Andy loved Canada and his work, travelling and helping to build structures across the world including many Canadian landmarks notably Toronto’s CN Tower and First Canadian Place, along with Vancouver’s Pan Pacific Hotel, Canucks arena and Alex Fraser Bridge. After 32 years with Canron, Andy was asked to join PSP Industries as President, enjoying his last decade of work tremendously with new colleagues and challenges. Throughout his successful career, Andy remained the same honourable man, hardworking, humble and kind.

Andy had a smile that could light up a room, a great sense of humour, a generous spirit and a zest for life. He will forever be missed and cherished in our hearts.

The family wishes to offer a sincere and special thank you to the nursing and care staff of the Washington East unit at The Residence at Morgan Heights for their kind and compassionate care.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Research. A private family service will be held in late January.
