Anna Maria Pontarelli

September 21st 1942 – February 26th 2023

Our beautiful Mother Anna peacefully passed away in Surrey British Columbia at the age of 80 on February 26, 2023. Predeceased by her Loving Husband Carlo in 2008. She will be dearly missed by her children Bianca (Al), Jessica (Dave), and Gianna (Marchello).Grandchildren Arianna, Lucia, Jordan and Aimee as well as countless family and friends both near and far.

Anna was born on September 21st, 1942 in Forni di Sotto, Udine, Italy. In 1967, Anna and Carlo moved to Montreal, Quebec and then a year later to Vancouver, BC. Anna enjoyed her work at Puccini’s for 22 years and then at Northview Golf and Country Club for an additional 16 years. She made life long friends wherever she went and would often run into people she knew even while on vacation. She was a loyal worker and a loyal friend. There was nothing she wouldn’t do for someone she cared about, and never expected anything in return.

Anna was known for her amazing smile, wonderful laugh and her incredible cooking. Anna and Carlo would often host dinner parties every Saturday night. She loved having her family around and would use any excuse to bring family and friends together.

Anna was an amazing Nonna, Mother, Wife and Friend. We will all miss her so very much.

A funeral service will be held for Anna on March 10th, 2023 at 1pm at St. Matthews Parish 16079 88th Avenue, Surrey BC.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Surrey Memorial Hospital Foundation, Czorny Alzheimers Center (604) 588 3371. The family would like to thank the staff at Czorny Alzheimers Center for their incredible care of our sweet mother.
