March 10th 1928 – April 21st 2012
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Larry Franklin. After a brief stay at Langley Hospital, Larry died peacefully on April 21st. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Anna, and daughters; Joan (Larry), Leslie (Ken) and Carol (Dan). Also, grandchildren Lindsay, Rebecca, Kenny, Sara, Cory, Carl, and Jordy, and one great-grandson, Michael. Larry leaves behind a brother Stephen (Roberta) and sister Frances in Winnipeg, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Larry was born and raised in Fort Whyte, Manitoba, and traveled to Vancouver as a young man. He had a long and successful career with Sauder Industries, traveling throughout B.C., making many lasting friendships.
Larry enjoyed a full life, particularly trips to Maui, hunting and fishing adventures, music, star-gazing, and especially time with friends and family sharing a good glass of wine.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Victory Memorial Park Funeral Centre, 14831, 28th Avenue, Surrey, BC on Friday, April 27, 2012 at 2:00 p.m.
Larry will be lovingly missed and remembered by all who knew him.
