December 22, 1930 – Vegreville, Alberta October 26, 2025 – White Rock, British Columbia.
Carol Wasylyk passed away peacefully the morning of Sunday, October 26 at the age of 94.
Carol was born on December 22, 1930, in Vegreville, Alberta – spending and enjoying her early years on the family farm outside of Vegreville. Coming from a strong, hardworking family led by Lemuel and Louise Cole, she grew up alongside her brothers, Dale and Terry, and her sister, Marian.
Carol left the family farm in the early 1950s, building homes in Edmonton, Saskatoon, and later in Calgary, before spending her final years in South Surrey, B.C. During her working years in the 1960s, Carol served as Executive Assistant to the President of both the Edmonton and Canadian Chambers of Commerce (Edmonton), and later, in the mid-1970s, as a legal stenographer with Neil German, Q.C. (Calgary). Then Walter Wasylyk walked into her life, and Carol thrived with her new family.
Carol began playing the piano in her early years and later on could be found playing at family gatherings. A good book was always nearby, as were one or two crossword puzzles. A passionate gardener, Carol also loved to travel (even just to the family lake) and one of her greatest joys – cooking for her family!
Predeceased by her first husband, Harry Wyss, and later by her beloved second husband, Walter Wasylyk, she is survived by her son Robin (Susan) Wyss; daughter-in-law Shannon Wasylyk (Bryan — who recently passed); son Michael (Brenda) Wasylyk; and daughter Lori (Gord) Horne. Carol also leaves behind a wonderful family of 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends.
A life so beautifully lived, A heart so deeply loved!
