Margaret (Carolyn) Campbell was born on May 5, 1943, in Sudbury, Ontario, to Alec and Myrtle Campbell, and was the elder sister to her brother, Rae.
In 1967 Carolyn graduated from the Marymount School of Nursing and dedicated more than fifty years to cardiac and intensive care nursing across Canada, retiring from Surrey Memorial Hospital in 2019.
Carolyn was a much loved member of the neighbourhood, known for her generous contributions of time and energy to community events, her friendly wit and her eternal smile. She really did help make the neighbourhood a special place to live.
She will be remembered as kind, generous, funny, strong-willed, and full of life. Carolyn loved to travel, whether it was a road trip across the country, a cruise in the Mediterranean, or months spent in Mexico with friends. She was never afraid to get in the car or hop on a plane if friends or family were waiting on the other side.
Carolyn loved being near the water. She was an avid swimmer, and anyone who knew her knows she practically lived in her bathing suit. One of her favourite places to spend her summers was at her family cottage on Lang Lake. She loved to host family and friends there, taking them on boat rides up and down the lake, playing under the dam, and visiting with lifelong friends.
Carolyn is survived by her two daughters, Cara and Carrie; her son, Scott; her brother, Rae; and many dear friends and family near and far.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time at Fleetwood International Church, 8250 161 Street, Surrey, BC. A private reception for friends and family will follow. For those unable to attend in person, the service will be live streamed; https://tinyurl.com/inmemoryofcarolynNEW
