Doris Ellen Hahn passed away At SM Hospital on March 18, 2013. She was born on March 13, 1927, in Claresholm, Alta. daughter of George and Norah Hahn. Doris spent most of her life in B.C. becoming an elementary teacher, then principal in Surrey. She was president of STA and later co-president, with Rita Hansford in organizing the SRTA and an integral part of this association, and life member. Doris was the founder of the Surrey Retired Teachers' Bursary Fund that enables Surrey's graduates to become teachers. She was an avid gardener, and a keen quilter. Doris is survived by her sister Kathy, (Bob) McBlain, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Cremation, with a memorial service planned for a later date. Contributions appreciated, in lieu of flowers, to the Surrey Foundation Education Fund (Bursary).
