Mrs. Edith Irene Anderson, a cherished and beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on September 28, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on October 9, 1947, Edith will be remembered with deep respect and enduring affection by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She was a resident of South Delta, British Columbia. Edith was predeceased by her father Anton Nickolson, her mother Florence Banta, and her son Daniel Harrison. She is survived by her son John (Cherel), her son Alan (Jennifer), and her grandchildren Matthew, Lukas, and Johnathan. The youngest child of a large family spread through Norway and North America, Edith carried a lasting sense of connection and care that reached across generations and distance.
Those who knew Edith will remember a gentle, kind-hearted presence—compassionate in spirit, generous in action, and quietly selfless in the way she consistently placed the needs of others before her own. She lived for others, offering steady support and warmth, and finding meaning in the simple pleasures of everyday life.
A great cook and baker, Edith was especially known for her lazy daisy cake—shared with the same generosity that defined her home and her heart. She also loved her family, walks, and crocheting, and she made many crocheted blankets, each one a patient, thoughtful expression of care. Her love for animals was another reflection of her tender nature and the gentleness she brought to the world.
Edith brought her humble leadership and guidance to all who entered her life and was an integral part in the upbringing of her grandchildren Lukas and Johnathan through smiles, her good nature and amazing home cooked meals. This was her way of showing love. Her first grandchild Matthew also held a special place in her heart which was confirmed upon their reuniting in 2011.
Edith’s legacy is one of devotion, quiet strength, and enduring love—qualities that will continue to be felt in the lives of her family and all who remember her.
A Celebration of Life will be held for her on Saturday, October 24th between 1pm and 3pm at First Memorial Fraser Heights Reception Room; 14835 Fraser Hwy, Surrey, BC.
