Sadly, Enid Valerie Chunick (née Hobbs) passed away peacefully on August 27, 2026. She would have celebrated her 98th birthday on December 3.
Enid was born in South Wales, in the town of Barry, the eldest of five siblings. She began working in London at the age of 14, and at 29, made the journey to Canada, settling in Vancouver, where she met and married Adam.
Enid enjoyed a long career in banking, with HSBC, now RBC, interrupted by a seven-year adventure when she and Adam ran a convenience store in Tsawwassen. They eventually settled in White Rock, where Enid built a wonderful life surrounded by friends.
Enid had many passions. She loved to dance, knit, sew, garden, play cribbage, travel, and attend church. She was fortunate to have so many wonderful friends throughout her life and will be remembered for her kindness, her thoughtfulness toward others, and her delightful sense of humour.
A special thank you to Tim, her nephew in the UK, and Pastor Norm Miller for their weekly communication with Enid over so many years. Their friendship and caring meant so much to her.
Enid will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Peace Arch Hospital.
