

Born in Groningen, Netherlands May 25, 1940, Fran immigrated to Canada September 14, 1951 at the age of 11 and arrived in Calgary, AB. Later the family moved to Langdon Corner, AB. Her parents owned a dairy farm and it was there that she met Henk. On June 17, 1961 Henk and Fran were married and their life together began in Calgary.
In 1967 Henk and Fran followed her mom and dad to Enderby. They started their business Valley Tool Ltd in the garage of the house and later moved it to a shop in Enderby.
After the business was sold in 1990, they retired to Kelowna in 1991. Eventually with the arrival of grandchildren they picked up and moved again to White Rock in 2002 to be closer to family.
Fran was a homemaker and business owner. Family was always important to her. Fran enjoyed gardening, music, reading and was a great cook. Her house was always spotlessly clean. Henk and Fran enjoyed travelling the world, including several mission trips and spending countless winters in Waikiki.
Fran will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband Henk, daughter Marlene and son in law Pete Yakabuski, grandchildren Riley, Megan, Casey and Ty Yakabuski, and son in law Gil Gallant. Predeceased by daughter Lorraine Havinga.
