Born in Vancouver, British Columbia, on December 25, 1945, Gail was the daughter of James and Evelyn Hastie. She grew up in Surrey and cherished time spent with her extended family, especially visiting the Hastie family farm.
After the family moved to Winnipeg with Canadian National Railway, Gail graduated from Windsor Park High School and began working at Burns Meats in St. Boniface, where she met Gary. They married in 1970 and later returned to British Columbia.
Creative and entrepreneurial, Gail opened her own boutique in the early 1970s, designing and sewing many of the fashions herself. She was also known for her wonderful cooking and baking, and loved entertaining family and friends.
Gail will be lovingly remembered by her husband Gary George Joseph; sister-in-law Linda Bowles; nephew Jeremy (Melanie) Bowles; niece Jana Burnell (Mike); and great-nephews Kyle and Drew Bowles, and Grayson and Porter Burnell.
At Gail’s request, no service will be held.
