OBITUARY

Garry Wayne Warwick

28 July, 1946 – 15 February, 2025
IN THE CARE OF

Victory Memorial Park & Funeral Centre

Garry Wayne Warwick, age 78, of Delta, British Columbia passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2025.

Garry Warwick was born July 28, 1946, in Toronto, Ontario, raised in Ottawa, and passed away peacefully in the presence of his children on February 15, 2025, near White Rock Beach, BC—the very date of his father’s passing 16 years earlier. He is predeceased by his parents, Joe and Reta, and lovingly remembered by his daughter Samantha (& son-in-law David), his son Matthew (& daughter-in-law-Elizabeth); two beautiful grandchildren, Abigail and Atticus; his mighty pack of closest friends, extended family, and the many colleagues, neighbours, and marina mates he was grateful to know over the years. Not to be underestimated, his grand-dog Lulu was a significant presence throughout the final months of his life, both at home and for the weeks spent in hospital.

Garry enjoyed his career as a creative director in advertising and was an avid reader, with a deep appreciation for clever, incisive writing, in both literature and for screen. His own creativity, wit, sense of humour, and affection are missed. While Garry enjoyed the years he spent living and working from Montreal to Vancouver, travelling a vast array of beautiful and lively locations for film shoots, his most peaceful, reflective times were experienced on his boat, on the water. As wished, his ashes will be delivered to “the sun and the sea” by his children in July 2025. Donations in Garry’s memory may be made to a clean ocean conservation group of choice, or to www.bccancer.com.

“From things that have happened and from things as they exist and from all things that you know and all those you cannot know, you make something through your invention that is not a representation but a whole new thing truer than anything true and alive, and you make it alive, and if you make it well enough, you give it immortality.”
