Dear family of Gerarda M. Kerton,
First of all, my heartfelt condolence at the loss of Gerarda.
My name is Janet Sjaarda Sheeres. I am a freelance researcher and author focusing especially on Dutch Immigrant Women.  According to the Daily Gleaner of August 29, 1946, Gerarda arrive in Lewisville, New Brunswick as Mrs. Kerton, therefore must have married in the Netherlands. Without her maiden name or Kerton's first names, I have not been able to find  the marriage registration.  To date I have been able to identify nearly 1,200 Dutch War Brides and I hope that you will be able to provide me with Gerarda's maiden name and Kerton's first name(s), so that I can add her to my database, and so that she will not be forgotten.
I was born in 1940 in the Netherlands and immigrated with my family to Canada in 1951.  The stories of the Dutch War Brides has always fascinated me, and am finally able to concentrate on the subject.
