IN LOVING MEMORY

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved husband, dad, papa, and friend, Glen Hunter. Glen passed away peacefully on May 22nd in White Rock, BC, surrounded by family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Pat, doting daughters Alison (Cam), Courtney (Tanner), grandsons Connor & Chase, granddaughter Hunter. Brother in laws Mike (Diana), Bob (Tammy), Sister in laws Berni & Barb (Roger), nieces & nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, brother Bob, brother in law Barry, and nephew Dan.

Glen was born and raised in Vancouver, and graduated from Killarney High School (class of 66). Growing up he enjoyed many sports but he was most passionate about soccer. He was a member of the 1972 Vancouver Firefighters Soccer team that won the Canadian Championship in St. John's, Newfoundland, and went on to be named sports team of the year.

Glen joined the Vancouver Fire Department in February 1971, and retired as Battalion Chief in November 2004, with many fond memories and cherished friendships.

Glen always enjoyed and made family time a priority. He loved coaching his daughters softball and soccer teams, camping trips to Lake Chelan, family dinners celebrating special occasions, and spent countless hours helping his girls with math homework! The arrival of grandkids brought him great pleasure, teaching them how to ride a bike, kick a soccer ball, swing a golf club and being able to attend their sports activities. In retirement, Glen & Pat enjoyed many travelling adventures; Italy, Greece, Mexico, NYC, and several cruises, but their annual extended vacation in Palm Desert with friends and family was always their favourite destination.

The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to Surrey Cancer Agency, the White Rock community palliative care team, and the wonderful staff at Melville Hospice in White Rock. A celebration of life is being planned for July. Please consider donating to the Vancouver Firefighters Charities vancouverfirefighters.ca, in lieu of flowers.

We LOVE you Glen, thank you for all the wonderful memories!
