October 2, 1940 – April 18, 2019
With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Gordon Clifford Gibson on April 18, 2019.
Gordon will be remembered by his wife Michaelene (O’Donohue) Gibson; daughter Michelle Cavanagh (Darrell), son Rod; grandson Tiernan Cavanagh, and granddaughter Georgia Cavanagh; as well as many nieces, nephews, and great friends. He is predeceased by his parents Clifford and Irene (née Gerkhe) Gibson and sister Janice Spring.
Gordon was born in Vancouver, B.C. on October 2, 1940. He graduated from UBC as a mechanical engineer. He ended up having a long career in pipeline construction in both B.C. and Alberta. He enjoyed woodworking, travel, golf, his rose garden and jive dancing.
Most of all, he loved spending time with his wife of 55 years, his children and his grandchildren. He was dedicated to them and taught them the bond and value of family.
He was a true gentleman who loved and laughed well, always had a smile on his face and had a twinkle in his eye.
A small private celebration of life will be held.
‘Til we meet again.
