

Westgard, Gordon Arthur June 5, 1937 – May 11, 2010
With heavy hearts and cherished memories, the family of Gordon Arthur Westgard announce his passing on May 11, 2010 after a courageous three year battle with cancer. Beloved husband and friend of Estelle (nee Michaud) for 50 years, devoted father to Colleen (Jef), Chuck (Tanyce), Carrie (Craig), dearest grandfather to Calvin, Chiara, Tayla, Tanelle, Toryce, Ty, Scott, and Brett. Survived by sister Chris Clayton (Clive) predeceased by parents Thomas and Florence, and sister Merle (Alvin). Gordon was born in Bonnyville, Alberta and moved with his family to New Westminster in 1941. He worked at CN Railway for over 38 years where he made many lifelong friends. Gordon and Estelle raised their family in North Delta where coaching baseball was a passion of his for many years and by which many dear friendships were established. He retired at 55 and enjoyed over 18 years of travel, fishing, golf, and watching his grandchildren’s sports. Gordon was a loving, loyal, and highly respected husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be missed dearly by all those whose lives he touched. A Celebration of his Life will be held on Monday, May 17th, 1:00pm at Victory Memorial Park Funeral Centre, 14831 28th Avenue, Surrey, BC. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the BC Cancer Foundation – Melanoma Research, 600-686 West Broadway, Vancouver, BC V5Z 1G1.
