August 2, 1997 – June 18, 2026
It is with profound sadness and deep sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved Hemashree Bommadevara, who left us on June 18, 2026, at the young age of 28.
Born on August 2, 1997, in Bhimavaram, Andhra Pradesh, India, Hemashree was a loving daughter, devoted wife, cherished family member, and a bright presence in the lives of everyone who knew her.
Hemashree came to Canada in 2022 to pursue her dreams and build a meaningful life. She made Vancouver, British Columbia her home, where she worked as a Research Technician at the University of British Columbia (UBC). Through her dedication, intelligence, kindness, and passion for her work, she touched the lives of her colleagues and those around her.
Hemashree will always be remembered for her warm smile, gentle nature, compassion, and the love she shared with her family and friends. Her sudden departure has left an immeasurable void in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
She is lovingly survived by her devoted husband, Nuthan Vikas Bathula, her parents in India, and her extended family and loved ones who will forever carry her memories in their hearts.
As per her family wishes and family traditions, her mortal remains are being repatriated to India, where her final rites and cremation will be performed in the presence of her family and loved ones.
Though her time with us was far too short, Hemashree’s kindness, love, and memories will remain forever cherished.
May her soul rest in peace.
If tears could build a stairway and memories were a lane
We would walk right up to Heaven to bring you home again
No Farewell words were spoken no time to say good-bye
You were gone before we knew it and only God knows why
We do not need a special day to bring you to our minds
The days we do not think of you are very hard to find
Each morning when we awake we know that you are gone
And no one knows the heartache as we try to carry on
Our hearts still ache with sadness and secret tears still flow
What it meant to lose you no one will ever know
Our thoughts are always with you, your place no one will ever fill
In life we loved you dearly, in death we love you still
There will always be heartache and often a silent tear
But always a precious memory of the days when you were here
We hold you close within our hearts and there you will remain
To walk throughout our lives until we meet again
Our family chain is broken now and nothing seems the same
But as God calls us one by one the chain will link again
