It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Janice O’Brien on December 6, 2025, surrounded by her loving family in Delta, BC.
Although born in North Vancouver, Janice spent her formative years at the end of Green Lake in 70 Mile House, where she developed her deep appreciation for life's simple pleasures. As a teenager, she attended Ashcroft High School and Whalley High School. As a young woman in the 1950s, she moved to North Vancouver where she worked as a telephone operator at BC Tel and Woodwards, eventually marrying and raising her family.
Janice’s artistic spirit flourished throughout her life through painting, drawing, and countless craft projects that brought joy to all who knew her. Her creative talents were generously shared as a painting instructor at Silver Harbour Senior Centre in North Vancouver, where she was a cherished long-time member, participating in numerous activities and programs that enriched her golden years. Janice approached life with kindness and grace.
She leaves behind her devoted children Tom (Deb), Kathy (Clay), Terry (Shelley), Trish, and Denny (Sandra), along with 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren who will forever treasure her memory.
Janice was predeceased by her beloved husband Patrick, her son Clancy, and her grandson James. Her legacy of creativity, love, and family devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
We will love you forever mom, it was "unreal."
