November 30, 1925 – September 13, 2023
Jessie, a long-time resident of South Surrey and White Rock BC, peacefully passed away on September 13, 2023. Dedicated to the City of Vancouver throughout her working years, Jessie was not only a committed professional, but also a vibrant soul with a passion for painting, sewing and travelling.
In her earlier years, she embraced an active lifestyle, finding joy in skiing, golfing and travelling.. Jessie’s adventurous spirit led her to explore new places, and her travels were a source of happiness. Her unconditional love for her grand puppies brought immeasurable joy, establishing them as her truest and most loyal companions in life. They would always brighten her day.
Predeceased by her loving husband, Joe Pears, and former husband Archie Kennedy, Jessie is survived by her sons, Ken, Bruce and Ian Kennedy, along with daughter-in-law Mary-Ann Kennedy, six grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
In her later years, Jessie discovered great companionship and happiness in the unwavering support of her dear friend and partner, Virgil Gamet, adding love, warmth and comfort to her life. Virgil and Jessie travelled extensively, both locally and abroad. They were often planning their next cruise or destination before they had returned from the trip they were on.
To honour Jessie’s remarkable 97 year journey, a Celebration of Life will be held at Hazelmere Golf and Tennis Club on November 30, 2023 from 12 to 2 pm, coinciding with what would have been her 98th birthday.
