

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Gary Rodford. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend of over 50 years, Marilyn, his son Ryan (Michelle), daughter Alison (Tyler) and grandchildren Alivia, Kaitlin, Hayley and Connor who will greatly miss the unconditional love and support of their Dad and Poppa.
Gary had a very successful and fulfilling 38 year career with BC Hydro. During his tenure, Gary positively contributed to numerous departments within the organization finishing his career as a Sr. Executive Vice President of Operations and retiring in 2008.
Family was the most important aspect of Gary’s life and he was a loving, supportive husband, father, and Poppa. He coached both Ryan and Alison in baseball, softball and soccer during their youth playing days, and participated as an executive member of North Delta Baseball Association.
In his spare time, Gary was a valued member of the Delta Classics hockey team which he was a member for over 30 years and during this time made many life long friends.
During his retirement, Gary became an avid golfer. He participated with the Morgan Creek Men’s Golf Club for over 20 years, serving on the executive committees in many capacities and was their Past Club Captain.
Gary and Marilyn enjoyed their winter home in Palm Desert for the past 15 years, enjoying golf and their friends. They enjoyed extensive world wide travel and many cruises during their retirement as well. So many wonderful memories to treasure always!
Gary was a man of principle, and positively affected the lives of family, friends and colleagues in all aspects of his life. He was a leader, a mentor who carried himself with honour and integrity. He cared very much and will truly be missed. Gary made a difference in people’s lives and his was a life well lived.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, January 23rd, 2023 at 1pm at Victory Memorial Park.
