I am so sorry to hear of Joe's passing. It is good that you were able to be there for him.
I am sure the loss of Janet must have been very difficult for Joe during these last few years. They had been together for so long and left us all with so many lovely memories.

My sincere condolencies to Joe's family and friends. I was fortunate to meet Joe on a number of occasions when I visited Canada three times in 2019. I was introduced to him by friends in his model railway circle and he was a genuine, kind and interesting gentleman who enjoyed his hobby and the time he spent with his friends. I know he will missed greatly, not only by his family, but by his close friends too. I was saddened to hear the news of his passing and will always remember this lovely man.

I count myself lucky to have shared time and conversation with Joe, whilst a member of the Vancouver Model Railway Club.  

He was a lovely guy, who always showed interest in anything you had to say.  I will remember with gratitude, his friendly smile and positive outlook on life.   A pleasure meeting you Joe ! .... you will be sadly missed by all of us at the club.      

Ever since I was little, I've always viewed my Grandad as a perfect gentleman and my Granny as a refined lady. I will always remember the story of how they met on a ballroom dancefloor after catching each others eye. The thing I loved most about Grandad was his love for Granny and the way he always thought of her first and above all else. He always held the door for her and made sure she was seated first when dining out. When we drove anywhere together, he always asked Granny if it was too hot, too cold, or too windy in the car for her. He knew what type of dresses, shoes and jewelry she would like and would not hesitate purchase something that she might find beautiful.
There are many things I will miss about my Grandad. His laugh was so loud and joyful that it gave others a reason to smile and laugh with him. His tall stature and swinging arms made him easy to pick out from a distance or in a crowd. When he was with friends or family, I noticed that he would often silently watch everyone else  interact with a smile on his face. 
I will miss Grandad's passion for ballroom dancing, singing and trains as well his appreciation of the beautiful things in life. I will also miss his enjoyment of tea and his wisdom about the merits and proper use of a tea cup and saucer.
What I learned from Grandad, and what I will miss the most, was how important it is to show love to friends and family and how special his love for his wife, children and grandchildren was.

We are so sorry to hear about Joe's death.  He was a kind, gentle, man.  Always smiling and busy.  He and his beloved Janet were our wonderful  neighbours here on Upper Roper Avenue in White Rock for many years.  I also sang with him in the White Rock Singers group where he was a valued member.

My deepest condolences to the family.  I spent huge amounts of time with Janet and Joe studying art history and enjoying the galleries in Italy.  I thank them for the wonderful memories they gave to me.  They were two of the best of mankind.
