It is with profound sadness that we share that our father, our daddy-o, our Papa Lloydie, our Bumpa Lloyd has passed. Lloyd was bigger than life. He was a logger, a heavy equipment operator and a faller. He built his own house back when all you needed was some land. He moved many times when jobs were tough to find. You could depend on Lloyd for his Saturday visits. In later years he bought his grand kids chips and M&Ms; and snuck some cheezies for himself. He was never happier than when the grandkids were close. He was never unhappier than when he talked about politics or money. We made him a stamp that said "bunch of crooks" which he stamped on every bill he paid with a cheque... including his CRA account. He loved his girls fiercly and called us all “yous guys”. He really loved calling his son in law Steve “Mut” and, boy, did he call! Steve was always honored when he would get a 2 am call from Lloyd, because Lloyd found Steve’s business card in his wallet and wanted to chat. He spent his final days with a view of the ocean in the care of some wonderful staff. We as a family, are celebrating a life lived to the full. Lloyd left nothing unsaid or undone. We had to take away his hammer and screw driver so he didn’t renovate his "hotel room" in the seniors home. Lloyd, you did good. On his final day, he just told the nurses, "I'm ready to go now" and he did. Lloyd finished life as he lived his whole life, on his own terms.
