Dear Norah and family, Our sincere condolences at the loss of Lorne. He was a very special friend and like a brother to Gavin. Gavin so enjoyed the times he spent with you and Lorne at Loon Lake. He was so amazed at all the things Lorne could make or fix in his shop. Loon Lake has not been the same since you left. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Words cannot even begin to express our sorrow when we heard of Lorne's passing.  Earl & I have been reminiscing of the many wonderful memories we made while visiting on the Lake. So many good times shared  and so much laughter. We will never forget his kindness - the fun we had fishing and his love of wood working. The gifts he gave to us of his wood work shall forever hold a special place in our home. May God give him eternal rest and you and your family the strength to get you through the days ahead. So sorry for your loss Nora. No words can express the empty heart feeling at this time but find strength in knowing time has a way of healing your sorrow. 
We are so happy to have known Lorne through the social activities at the lake and the back country rides. Our memories of Lorne will also come back each time we tread out onto our dock that he was responsible for constructing.

I am so sorry to hear of Lorne's passing. I have fond memory's of you both. We worked together at Kodak for such a long time and had so much fun. I lost Bob in June 2014 with Mesothethlioma, it was a trying time.  but let me tell you there is a light at the end of the tunnel.  It takes one hell of a long time to realize you can manage on your own.  You will miss him every day and wonder how the hell you did it with out him, but trust me they look after us from above it's their way of making things good in our world.

As a neighbour in Loon Lake I always took him items to be fixed when I was about to give up and throw it away.  He would always find a way to fix it.  Quite an handyman.  As soon as that garage door would open, there were a stream of people to see him, me included.  He had lots of common sense and his advice were right on.  I always valued his opnion.  Such a men will be missed by his family and his friends.  My condeleances to Norah, Gary, Alana and their wonderful grand kids.

So wish we could be with you Norah and Family.  Love always Al and Judy Hunter.

Ray Connors (deceased Dec 29,2012) was a cousin of Lorne's.  Lorne's mother Hanna and Ray's mother Ragna were close sisters, at times living together while Ragna's husband was away in the Army during WW2, and Hanna helped Ragna  raise their 4 small children. One of the children was a young boy Lorne, who passed away about 3yrs of age, and Lorne's mother took this name-sake for one of her children later.  So Ray and Lorne had close family ties between both families, which continued the rest of their lives.  Many pleasant memories of times we met with Lorne and Norah in Calgary, Vancouver, Maui Hawaii, Loon Lake BC, Auburn, Bonney Lake, Puyallup in  Wash State and recently Bellingham, Wa.

It is with deep sympathy, which I want to express at this time to Norah and family, but we will always  remember the happier times of the past ,in our lives with Lorne.

Lorne was a wonderful caring friend that we meet in Loon Lake.  His sense of humour and open door garage was appreciated by all who met him.  Steve and I admired the loving relationship between Lorne and Norah and how they both put family first.  We are grateful that he came into our lives. Rest in Peace Lorne.
