Obituary
Louise Marie Morris (nee LaMarche) November 11, 1930 – December 27, 2020
It is with gratitude for her long and joy-filled life that we announce the passing of Louise, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and friend.
Predeceased by the love of her life, her husband Bill, and by her daughter Sharon Baldwin and grandson Dennis Little. She is survived by and will be lovingly missed by her daughters Lawana Smith (Dan), Christine Little (Dee), Gail Alfstad (Al), Cindy Morris, Eldene Morris (Les), her son William (Bill) Morris, 19 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and her 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Louise grew up in Port Moody and New Westminster. She met Bill when she was 11 years-old and they married when she was 18. They were together for 45 years until he passed. Bill was the love of her life … they spent all their time together, even worked together; they were rarely ever apart. Even when Bill passed, he was still with her because she dreamt about him “every single night” for 27 years.
Louise worked in a non-traditional career long before it was a common thing for a woman to do. She was a carpenter and worked at Atco trailers with her husband Bill until she retired at 66. She encouraged all the females in the family not to let anything stop them, “You can do anything you set your mind to!”
In her last few years Louise had health problems but she had incredible strength, resilience and perseverance. She always got through things and made the best of everything. Anyone who knew her will tell you that she was the strongest woman they ever knew.
At 90, even with her health issues, Louise was still able to live alone and drive a car. She had recently renewed and passed her driver’s license and was very proud of the fact that she never had one speeding ticket or accident in all her years of driving. Until Covid-19 hit Louise was always out and about. She loved going to the Casino and the Race Track.
Louise had a crazy, wonderful and sometimes inappropriate sense of humour. Her family could easily talk her into doing some of the funniest things…and she just went along with them.
Louise treasured her huge family. She loved each one deeply and left her loving imprint on them all. Louise loved them with everything she had and embraced every moment with them. She was never happier than when the whole family gathered for special occasions that always included delicious food.
As the family matriarch, Louise exemplified generosity, affection, unconditional love, solid support, kindness and wonderful wise words of wisdom.
Some of Louise’s last words were about the family that she and Bill created with love. She left her family with these last words of wisdom: "I hope your dad and I have taught you all the importance of family and always sticking up for each other, watching out for each other, always having each other’s back and always, always loving each other.
Never drift apart or fight and if you fight make sure you forgive because nothing can come in between family. Nothing can take the love away.”
You will be greatly missed and will always be in our hearts and memories.
Due to Covid19 restrictions a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.

In Louise’s words, “You can’t take the love away.”
