CURTIS, Margaret June (nee Twizell), passed away peacefully in her sleep early Sunday morning, January 17, 2016 in her 88th year, after a courageous battle with vascular dementia. June was the dearly beloved wife of Victor Clair Curtis for 67 beautiful years, and the devoted mother of Donald, Debra, Dale and Daniel, as well as eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. June was born in Montreal on June 30, 1928 to William and Phyllis Twizell and was the dear sister of pre-deceased siblings Connie, Phyllis and James, and surviving sister Dorothy and sister-in-law Elaine, as well as several sons and daughters-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews and their respective families. June will be fondly remembered as friendly, helpful, enthusiastic and outgoing by many in Montreal pre-1982 when she worked for the Protestant School Board and Town of Mount Royal High School, and in post-1982 by many in Vancouver during her 10+ years at Arbutus Publication, and the many fellow retiree friends in White Rock where June and Vic made their retirement home in Breakaway Bay. The family extends its heartfelt thanks to the amazing, kind, caring staff at Morgan Place in Surrey for making June’s final years comfortable and as dignified as possible. No service by request. Donations to Alzheimer’s Society of Canada in June’s name thankfully accepted. Please visit www.firstmemorialfuneral.com and select Fraser Heights Chapel to leave messages of comfort for the family.
