

in Sedgewick, Alberta. Her father’s name was Harold Miller and her mother was Bertha Emerson. Marion’s oldest brother was Art, then came Marion, next in line was Roy and twelve years later twin boys Lloyd and Floyd were born. In her teens Marion lived in the Okanagan and was a nanny for a Doctor’s family. She moved to Vancouver in 1940 and met her future husband, a tall handsome man named Walter.
For fifteen years they lived in a large house on the corner of 8th and Willow and had a daughter named Pearl in 1943 and in 1945 Victor was born. The kids had great adventures exploring the construction site as Vancouver General Hospital was being built. Walter worked at Vivian Diesel for many years. When they sold their home, they moved to Lillooet Street in Vancouver. Marion worked for the exclusive women’s club in the Georgia Hotel. She loved wearing her black and white uniform, travelling to and from work on the bus and enjoyed her job for over 20 years, even working past retirement age! Marion loved shopping downtown and wearing stylish outfits. She was a beautiful woman, inside and out.
Marion and Walter moved to Surrey in 1988 and lived in the Newton area.
Their favorite activity was to go to the trailer in Paradise Lakes near Mount Baker.
The trailer was the center for picnics, fishing and projects for adults and kids! Later the get-togethers moved to a cabin in Birch Bay, where everyone was welcome and many good dinners were enjoyed. Some of the grand children have fond memories of Grandma Marion trying to equalize the foot race results!
Walter and Marion enjoyed travelling; some of their travels were with the Power Boat Association and took them to Hawaii and Detroit. They loved cruising, trips to Nashville, Graceland, Mexico and other destinations with family members.
Walter died in 1995 and later Marion moved to an apartment in White Rock, she then eventually moved to a care facility at Ocean View Care Home and was one of their longest residents from May 6th, 2005 until January 4th, 2017. She was well loved by the care staff even after she gradually lost the ability to communicate. She loved visits from family and especially animals would light up her eyes.
Marion loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Survived by daughter Pearl Fisher, daughter-in-law Linda Zimmerman, grandchildren; Catherine, Walter, Steve, Sharie, Lisa and Lorinda, and many great grandchildren.
