It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mark Butler who left us peacefully after a 28 month courageous battle with Glioblastoma. Mark was a man of unwavering integrity, sharp wit, and boundless kindness, loved and respected by all who knew him.
Born on October 15, 1956, in Timmins, Ontario, Mark dedicated his life to service and community, first as a Canadian Customs Officer, then as a proud and ethical Delta police officer, and after retiring from policing, as an investigator with BCLC. He approached every aspect of life with honesty, compassion, and an incredible sense of humor.
Mark was the beloved husband of 39 years to Paige, and the proud father of Megan (Frankie) and Zachary (Jenna). His greatest joy came from his family, especially his cherished grandchildren Esmeralda, Frankie, Violet, and one eagerly awaited little one on the way. He is also survived by his loving sisters Ann, Nora, Kathleen, and Susan.
Mark’s strength and optimism during his battle with cancer were nothing short of inspiring. Even in the most difficult moments, he remained a source of love and support for those around him.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all whose lives he touched.
A celebration of Mark’s life will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at Victory Memorial Park Funeral Centre. Donations can be made in Mark's memory, to the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada, braintumour.ca or to Langley Hospice, in lieu of flowers.
