Dad, you are the best dad, husband, brother, and friend anyone could ever ask for. Everyone who meets you has nothing but good things to say—you always make an impact on people.

You always wanted to make sure that Zach and I had a good childhood growing up, and you worked so hard to make that happen. You were always there for us, and you were always there for Mom. We will forever be grateful for everything you did and the love you gave us.

I’m going to miss our talks, your contagious laugh, your eye rolls, and the way you always welcomed me with open arms every time I came over. This doesn’t feel real, and it shouldn’t be.

From the moment you got your diagnosis, you never gave up—you stayed strong for your family and for yourself. I’m comforted knowing you’re no longer in pain.

You will always be loved and deeply missed.🥲

I have been very fortunate to have known Mark and his family for many years.  His kindness and love for his family and others could always be seen.  Mark's humour and caring will be missed.

I've known Mark and Paige since the mid 80's when Mark was a Delta PD member.  Our paths crossed often, particularly due to common platoon postings, special project assignments and while working and travelling on union business. Our quirky sense of gallows humour and a penchant for self deprecation opened the door to a long,  rich and valued friendship.  I will miss him deeply.  This April 2008  photo was at a meetup at a Victoria conference he attended,  sharing a toast while wearing the hotel bathrobes !

A memory,

Meanwhile in North Delta , 206 Delta there’s an assault in progress , 207 Delta attend a man with a gun call , 205 Delta there’s a B&E in progress.

Meanwhile at the same time in Tsawassen at Alfa Pizza , 102 Delta  I’ll be 10-62 at Alfa. Hmmm now what should I order , ummm maybe Chicken Slouvaki sounds good no no make it a Greek salad. 

Meanwhile back in North Delta all hells breaking loose. Chaos reigns. I remember having dinner at Alpha Pizza with Mark and Connie Kyle and we were laughing about how so different the areas were to do police work. The pay never changed whether you were busy or not. To describe North Delta in dramatic frantic terms and then Tsw in a quiet calm manner generated a lot of laughs.

In closing, rest in peace my friend , there’s no chaos only quiet peace.  The pays the same .

I have very fond memories of working with Mark at customs at Vancouver Airport.  His sense of humour was delightful.  Amazes me he left such a crew to go work with Delta Police.  Last time I saw Mark was when he stopped in a patrol car at Centennial Beach to have a chat, still a bit new to the force.  His description of a day's work in Tsawwassen still has Jon and I laughing all these years later.  Humour gets you through a lot.  I am so sorry this precious life has come to an end too soon, and trust all that was the best in Mark's life will live on in his family and those who knew him.

To me, Mark was the epitome of integrity. I met him as an applicant when he worked in the Recruiting Section at Delta Police. I am quite sure that he had a hand in the decision to hire me. While I worked with Mark on patrol in the early days, he was a fantastic role model. The way he carried himself whether dealing with the public or colleagues was impressive. The little time I spent with Mark made a tremendous and lasting impression on me. I could imagine what a great father and good friend he would be and I know that he will be truly missed. I believe his family and friends are lucky to have known him so closely.

Mark was one of the best when it came to humanity!I will miss Mark! The world will miss Mark! I am so sad that he is no longer in our world! I know he is resting well now though. To his family, you will miss him so much!! Take comfort in  knowing who he was and then model that in your lives, in his honour!  Always find a way to remember and honour your Dad within your lives! He will not only see it, but will love it! I am very sorry for your loss!

My deepest condolences to Paige, Megan, Zack and your entire family. Mark was a brave warrior, quietly fighting for many years, long before many knew of his battle with cancer. He can finally rest in peace. A Well deserved peace, Mark. 
It was wonderful that Mark was with you at Megan's wedding. He cherished that time. 
I worked with Mark initially as Patrol North Zone partners and subsequently in other sections. Mark was always a pleasure, having a great sense of humour and a brilliant mind which I always admired. A warm, caring and friendly man, Mark was also a fine athlete and very effective police officer in any situation. Mark deeply loved his family and spoke of them often. A wonderful role model, excellent father and loving husband, Mark was also a sincere and caring friend. We will miss you Mark, but the marvellous memories and your positive impact on our lives will be with us forever.

Mark hired me at DPD and I worked with him for many years. Mark was the most amazing human I have had the honor to call my boss,  colleague and friend.  He brought out the absolute best in everyone and touched so many lives.  He had the best sense of humor. His family was the world to him, he spoke of you all with such pride.  You are blessed to have had such a man as a husband, father, grandfather, brother, family member.  My sincere condolences to you all.

Mark and I started in Customs together back in January 1981 at the Vancouver Airport. We became very close friends over the many years we spent together.
We celebrated several milestone events and we were groomsmen in each others weddings.
Mark was a one in a million friend.
I treasure the menories that we have shared for over 4 decades.
I miss him dearly and will never forget him.
My deepest condolences to Paige, Megan, Zach, and the rest of the family. RIP my dear friend.

I will be one of countless who drop a line here for Mark. I knew him for years then worked for him and with him at  DPD. Such a gentle soul. He was never “I’m the boss” type of guy. You could talk to him one on one without feeling inferior in any way. Such a great guy. Gone too soon.

Mark was a wonderful man… I was very lucky to be close friends with him when he started at Canada Customs with my first husband.  He was single at the time, and came to our house so often for dinner that he used to call me Mom… I loved him like a son.
He was lucky enough to find great love with Paige, I remember their wedding well.  I loved spending time with them.
Unfortunately with a divorce, remarriage, moving many hours away, raising kids, family, parental illnesses, we lost touch… but I will always remember his kind heart, beautiful smile, and of course his laughter…. 
My love and prayers go out to his beautiful family, I hope your wonderful memories spent with Mark help you through this difficult time…
