

Maureen passed away at the age of 99; 37 days shy of her 100th birthday. Maureen was born in Richhill, Co. Armagh, Northern Ireland. She grew up on a farm the 2nd youngest of 10 children. Maureen married Jim Topley in Ireland in 1947. In the early 50’s, they decided to emigrate to Canada. In 1955 Maureen followed Jim to Vancouver, making the journey by herself with her 2 young daughters, Sally and Brenda. They settled in Vancouver where they added another daughter, Barbara, to their family.
Maureen was left a widow at the age of 50 when Jim passed away. After a few years, she was lucky to meet and marry Danny Clough. They had 17 years together enjoying their blended family. They enjoyed travelling especially to London. Maureen was left a widow again at 71.
Maureen worked for over 30 years at Max’s Donuts retiring at 65 and was finally able to fully enjoy her grandchildren. She was a devoted mother and grandmother.
Maureen was predeceased by her 2 husbands, and all of her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her 3 children, Sally (Roger), Brenda (Roger) and Barbara; along with 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Also nieces and nephews in Northern Ireland.
Mothers. We all have one. They don’t live forever, but their influence does.
